It took me a long time to tell my mother what i was doing. and it was kind of an accident that I did tell her. She didnt have the same reactions as most did. she hugged me and told me she loved me.

That was helpful. not all parents are the same. So i understand the panic in thinking you should tell. do it when youre ready and if you need to talk to get past an urge. Im here ok?
