On my internet travels late last night I somehow ended up on the wikipedia page for the term 'limerence'.
It all sounded very familiar to me, and I thought some of you here might find it interesting to read about too.

Limerence is characterized by intrusive thinking and pronounced sensitivity to external events that reflect the disposition of the limerent object towards the individual.
