Since I have purchased my home I have struggled with my basement. The struggle continues but this year I made two major investments.

(1) there was a room that had been made which was imho far too large and really closed off the space and blocked the window. I got someone in to push the room back and allow the window to been open to the main space and it really lightens up the space. This has made me happy and also, reduced the number of spiders.

But

(2) I had no floor. There had been carpet and they took that up. The floor was covered in nails and rocks of plaster etc. Plus for some reason it had like a permanent layer of dust and also for some reason... attracted spiders. I tried like 4 times to get flooring but there always was some horrid problem. I finally got it installed this week and it looks flat out amazing. Beyond that... the flooring seems to have been installed over the dirt and now... the entire area seems to be MUCH cleaner. I can walk down there in my bare feet.

I just love it and now... even though there is more to do, I could sell this place including the basement. It is a walk out so it is able to be considered living space.
