This study proves absolutely nothing. A few anecdotal accounts and lots of speculation do not a scientific discovery make. Correlation does not equal causation.

Even if this study has some truth to it.....all it's saying is that a small percentage of people can respond badly to cannabis. Just like a certain part of the population can go into a diabetic coma from eating sugar or die from eating a nut. People are going to be allergic to things but that doesn't mean they aren't useful and helpful to many others.

The fact that cannabis is the most abused substance with people who have bipolar disorder might be because it's actually therapeutic to people with the disorder.......I find that statement to be questionable. I bet alcohol is the most frequently abused by far due to cost and availability. Alcohol is a million times worse.....it's brain damage in a bottle. But, When you are in enough pain, you will do whatever you can to calm those storms. Cannabis is pretty benign for most people and safer than alcohol by far. It's a safer alternative and should be available legally. Relief shouldn't be a criminal offense.

With all things there are risks, whether people can see them or not. Cannabis has some risks just like any other medicine we take. Antidepressants can cause suicide but people keep risking it.

I hope REAL studies can be conducted from an unbiased group of scientists someday. I would like to know everything about the plant......the good, bad, ugly, warts and all.

Nobody is forcing the people who can't handle it to use it, nor should those it works for be made to suffer or do without because some people have a bad reaction.
