It's possible you got conned into presenting as mentally ill. Or you may have just been a depressing situation.

Biplolar can be cyclical. You've been off meds and feel good. That's great. I would still keep a pdoc on hand for a while, because it may reaccur. Sometimes when we get off meds there is sort of a honey moon phase where everything is wonderful. Then a few months down the line you may get a rebound effect from going off meds. Or you may relapse. Keep an eye on your moods. And good luck
