I do not like to cry in public either...Yet if it is bad news about your pet...agree to let yourself cry....it is a measure of Love for your pet that you would grieve...it is not a weakness...and my friend is a vet assistant...yes people cry at the vet's....I think animals love us more than most people in our lives...
When I go to funerals or where I know someone will be crying...I take beautiful antique handkerchiefs...and give them out...saying...some tears are too precious to throw away...so take a lovely handkerchief with you...and go ahead and weep...lift your tears into the cloth...it holds them...and gives you a barrier in the sense that there is a measure of it's placement between you and who may be looking....I can't explain it...yet it works...I have the handkerchief I wept in when my father passed away....it was full of my tears....and it is an odd thing...in that the bit of cloth...takes and it gives...
I am so very sorry that your pet is not doing well....It is not weak to love...it is an emotion of great power to love....I have known cowboys that have loved their horse and it has passed away...and decades later talking about that horse they start crying....Love stays with us.....may your heart find comfort in the memories of that love....
