The states is not nessasarly better, it depends on which state you live in, whether or not you're in a city or rural area and your insurance coverage. Since moving to a rural area in another state I have no pdoc or T. There is one pdoc in the three county service area and I'm stable currently so the general doc prescribes my psych meds. If I become unstable I'll have to go though ER to get psych servers and that's a nightmare. I could probably get them to assign me a t but I have no choice in the process, I'd be stuck with whoever they assigned. As for social workers? Ha! They have closed two hospitals and are in the process of merging two others. If you need ER psych service they set you up on line cause like I said there's one one pdoc in the area. I'm on Medicare Medicade but even if I had private insurance my choices wouldn't be great here although I could probably go out of area to the closes city and get a pdoc.
