It sometimes is nice to let others know you without adding personal things about yourself. You would be surprised to find that they notice all the wonderful things about your personality (some that you were not even aware of yourself).

This can be a strength to you, and you will see yourself in a new light.

I would keep some things personal at work. You can always share them here with us in a more private setting if and when you like to.

If things do come out at work that embarrass you, try to tell them honestly but nicely that you are embarrassed. Nice people would not want to continue in these conversations, and hurt your feelings.
