Do PTSD group therapists typically teach patients about personality disorders? I befriended someone who claims a sociopathic coworker caused this and she learned about PDs in therapy.

I'm concerned she may actually have a PD and/or malingering, and maybe she's being treated for it, hence all the knowledge. She claims to have or have had countless mental and physical health problems which contradict the good shape she's in, her energy level, and her extreme focus and street smarts. She plays the victim all the time and everything bad happens to her. She claims physical neglect as a child.

She's a serious, intense, person who is completely self aborbed with her issues, though not arrogant. Im talking 1-hr monologues and then a few questions about me before the next monologue. Shes very nice and helpful and doesnt ask for help - very self sufficient. She never says thank you when complimented, nor does she say youre welcome. I find that curious.

Thanks for your time!
