When Anafranil became available it was hailed as THE med for OCD. For some reason, it seems to have lost popularity. Nowadays it seems Zoloft is often used for OCD. Frankly, I'm not sure why Zoloft is used for OCD since it's an activating SSRI. But from what I've observed/heard Zoloft does help some people, to some extent, with OCD symptoms.
