Even without MI it's good to have healthy self-awareness. Usually I'm pretty good about being self-aware, now my mind's just mush.

Generally, the difference I find in myself is:

Self-awareness, "What I said might have been inappropriate" "You need to focus now, just work one sentence at a time, you'll get there" "You're having a panic attack and it's okay, but you need to calm down" "Not getting out of bed today is going to make things worse, go into the kitchen and get a glass of water, start from there and keep going" "You haven't showered in a while, you should probably take one"

Moderate Self-criticism, "What you said was a **** thing to say" "Dude, ****ing focus, you have to finish this" "You can't panic right now, stop and breathe for crying out loud" "Get out of bed, you're being lazy" "Not taking a shower is gross, go take care of that"

Harsh Self-criticism, "Why did you say that, asshole? You're such a tool, you know that?" "You can't focus, like usual. You're so stupid. You wanted to be an author and you can't focus enough to finish a single sentence. That's pretty damn sad. You're pathetic" "Why the **** are you panicking? You're an embarrassment. There's nothing to be scared of dumbass! Why are you so damn scared?!" "Get out of bed you ****ing parasite. You're so worthless you can't even clean up a little. You already don't work and now you can't clean. What do you do? Nothing. That's right, not a damn thing. Stop sucking the life out of people you supposedly love. You're a piece of ****" "You're so disgusting. You can't even shower. Oh, boo-hoo, you'll have another panic attack. Shut up *****. Get in the ******* shower you filthy son of a *****! How can your fiance even ****ing love you with how gross you are?"
