dear ocd chick, I also was confused by the "golden rule" I thought, how can doing on to others as I would have them do unto me be right? I may not like it that way...maybe it should be "do unto others as THEY would have you to do unto them"...but then I understood something, it was never meant to be a "one way street" and if someone "does unto me" in a way other than "as I would have it" then my reaction should be as I would have someone react to me if I did the same thing, to basicly receive it in the spirit in which it was offered, understanding the real importance of giving and receiving, and just smile and say "thank you", would'nt you want someone to do that ? does this make any sense to you?
