Memory Mess-Ups and Senior Moments
Sometimes my memory gets to messed-up that what happens is beyond a Senior Moment. Like, I can remember that I had a whole conversation with someone about a particular thing, but I cannot recall at all what agreements we came to on the subject. All I can recall, vaguely, is that we did discuss it at length. However, the details, all the whole thing really, is gone from my memory. All that remains is this foggy idea that, yes, we did discuss that, didn't we?
Then there are the true Senior Moments. Those are something like that I put the Drug Store on my grocery list, as one of my grocery items, so when I came back out of the grocery store and had to embarrassedly admit to the bus driver of the Senior Van, that I forgot to mention that I needed to go to the Drug Store, I get some backflash from him and a snide comment about how he is going to have to ask more detailed questions about where we need to go from now on. (Then he had to re-track everything in his computer) and then we get to go back to the Drug store, which we had just passed, on our way to the grocery. UGH!
To me, Senior Moments are smaller forgetfulnesses and Memory Mess-ups are when your mind kind of just balls up into a huge mess, that is impossible to untangle. Does that make any sense?
So please feel free to share any memory problems that you have encountered here, small, medium or large!!!
Any caregivers here, who are caring for Dementia patients are welcome too! If it has to do with memory, tell us about it! PLEASE!!!
