Speculating about what to say or not say is very tiring I agree. That's why I gave up doing it. I try to say what I mean and speak from the heart.
Yes, sometimes what I say may offend someone or hurt their feelings. At that point I examine what I said. I may have been unkind and if so I apologize. However, sometimes what I said plucked a nerve or sore spot in another person. There is nothing I can do about that.
It's really impossible to never offend someone without turning into an emotional doormat.
