My new landlady either thinks I'm an utter and complete moron or has extremely low expectations of tenants.

She has been writing me back, "Great job" and the like when I email her my filled-out application form, let her know I'd put in the request to switch the utilities to my name, etc.

I'm not complaining -- as weird as it is, I'll say I'm still a total sucker for meaningless praise.
