It is not rigorously enforced, but instead meant as a deterrent from members using it as a way of constantly editing their history here, and to keep the workload on our volunteer support team to a reasonable level. With so many members, it would be very difficult to keep up without this limit in place.

You would need to PM an admin if you'd like to know where you stand on this number. But we can and do make regular exceptions to the limit.
