This is 'hello' in Russian if you are speaking to an elder or person of authority, not a peer. Incidentally, for mac or anyone curious, it is pronounced phonetically as "zdrasveeteer". A child would use it with a teacher or an adult with a police officer. Don't recall if I mentioned it before in this thread but I thought about it... the correct form of 'hello' to someone who you are questioning whether or not you are having an online relationship with is (phonetically) 'preevyet'. It is a casual 'hello' - the difference between 'greetings' or 'good day' and 'hi'.
