I am pushing 60, and I feel my bipolar has gotten worse with time. It's under good control now with lots of medication and therapy, but for a few years it just got worse and worse. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 53 with bipolar NOS, then it really got out of hand and I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 at age 55.

What's sad is, I've probably had it for most of my life. I remember going through my first depressive episode when I was 10, and I can recall times I was suicidal as a kid and young adult. I also know in retrospect that there were manic episodes which I self-medicated with alcohol.Live and learn, I guess.
