So here I am wrapped up in another mess. I was put back on benzos last xmas when I went to the ER with a massive panic attack. Right off the bat i started abusing them. I’d get drunk and just pop them like candy then wake up the next day to count them and see that I screwed myself. It’s not a huge amount but if I don’t at least take 1mg Ativan each day then I get into withdrawal that is so uncomfortable and depressing. I’d get up at 3am to take a shower and wash off all the cold sweat. That’s the worst!

My question is, how long would the (physical) withdrawal last? I know 1mg ain’t **** but for some reason I still get sick. I’m prescribed 2mg a day AS NEEDED only. My pdoc gets mad if I tell her I’m taking it every day. I just want to detox so it’s out of my system and I won’t have to worry about taking it every day. I don’t even get a buzz anymore.
