I've come to the conclusion that he had Borderline Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and may have actually had CPTSD himself. I don't think he was BiPolar. He was never diagnosed with anything.

My Mom had one sister and grew up in a strict catholic family. Her childhood was pretty good, no history of abuse. Her father passed away when she was 14. Went to Ladycliff college (catholic college), then taught in a one-room-school house for 1 year, before becoming a bank teller. She then met and married my father who started abusing her about 1 year after they were married. Just about the time my oldest sister was born.

Possible trigger:

My mother had anxiety issues and at one point became very paranoid and possibly had hallucinations. But my father had been abusing her daily for months, threatening to put her in a psych ward, as well as physically and sexually abusing her. All her issues, in my opinion, were a direct result of being abused by my father.

Sounds like some very hard lives they lead, very sorry for that.
