I'm in the process of applying for disability insurance, and my psychiatrist is my main Dr. filling out the paper work.

I met with him yesterday to go over what he wrote and add anything else I felt should be included. Part of it was an assessment of functioning in different physical and intellectual functions. He assessed me as having severe impairment in a lot more of the categories than I had. It was just kind of depressing knowing that's how he sees me.

But I guess it's kind of typical, I usually think I'm doing better than I am, try and do too much and wind up imploding. Plus I guess it's better for my chances of being approved.

Now I'm just going through the whole hassle of getting my medical records from all my hospitalizations which is time consuming and expensive.
