It sounds like you have an inquiring mind. There can be a lot of reasons for clinging, needy behavior. If you notice this in yourself you can learn the whys, but it will probably be easier with the help of a therapist. Better to dig into it now, while you are young and the issues are not so buried as they will get over the years if you neglect them.
