Good for you! I'm glad it was such a wonderful experience for you. I went to a "Walk A Mile In My Shoes" rally a few years ago & wound up in tears. It made me think of how far down the scale I have sunk. I used to teach, too, wildflowerchild, but became unable to work due to my mood swings & the absences they caused. I'm now on SSDI. I was such a successful teacher for 25 years, until MI brought me to my knees. Again, I'm glad mental health advocacy is something that bouys your spirits, but I don't think I'll ever be able to participate in another walk. I hate to admit it, but I think the fact that many of the participants were severely impaired added to my feelings of failure & despair.
