I would try Ambien first. If it doesn't work you have other options. Restoril is a benzodiazepine and because it's habituating/addictive should only be used as needed for no longer than 4-6 weeks. Many doctors will no longer prescribe benzos and are weaning long term users off them because they can cause mental and physical effects such as depression, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and memory loss.
