If you have a teaching background, how about working as a trainer in pharma? I'm from the UK, so it might be different where you live. But here, a lot of ex teachers go into pharma, not as sales reps, but teaching field based teams on communication, problem solving and so on, as well as one to one coaching. The pay and benefits are very good and many jobs are a lot more secure than substitute teaching.
