This is bringing back memories for me of how about 10 months after my first baby was born, I visited a new doctor and he told me I really had to work harder on losing the weight I had gained for the baby. I was overweight, he said, plain and simple. Well, it's true, I was carrying more weight than before I got pregnant, but I didn't look or feel awful. I weighed 137 and was 5'5". I felt so bad he told me I was overweight, even though I guess doctors are supposed to tell you that. But it started in me this avoidance behavior with doctors. After that, I didn't want to see doctors anymore because of this experience. I know that's dumb, but to this day I am very reluctant to seek medical care for myself, and it all started with that doctor visit.
