Some kids with autism have sensory issues as their main thing, some have issues with socializing, some have trouble with carrying out tasks, some are extreme detail or concrete thinkers... most kids with autism has at least a little of each cornerstone of autism but it often happens that one issue is bigger than another.
I'm middle aged and I can still have meltdowns. Didn't know there was an age limit... I had more sensory issues as a kid like I wanted to wear soft shirts and the sun really hurt my eyes. But some of that I grew out of. I had proper self help skills at an early age but not enough for an adult. So, autism can sort of morph through life.
