Been through exactly the same, long term treatment resistant depression and GAD but gradually exploring other possibilities, BP, BPD and more recently CPTSD, which seems to be getting closer. I tend to treat any diagnosis as a working hypothesis rather than 'fact'.
Personally I think a good formulation is much more useful though.
