BUT -- some complete stranger has posted a picture of our house on his social media and has also shared a link attached to it of an article talking about my neighbours murder three years ago insinuating there's some type of link. This is TOTALLY inappropriate. I don't know him but his posts are private and I'm tempted to respond with a comment like

"shouldn't your priorities be with our homeless community or raising your daughter, not my house nor my decorations" OR "using an innocent dead murdered woman to justify your asinine opinion of my decorations shows you up to be the real villain here"

Either way, this is so out of order. There's no reason to post a picture of my house on social media. Not his. Not anyone I don't know, either. IF anyone thinks "you have decorations so you want the attention" -- I would post pictures myself. Decorations are for the people who walk past, not for random people on the internet. Not without my consent.

I'd appreciate advice.
yea know the feeling. when the pokemon go was a huge thing my home was coming up on the game as a pokemon location.(thankfully this pokemon go fad has fizzled down and out here in my neighborhood)

my point maybe the stranger googled or what evered the murder and the google map (or other map) (which uses google earth when in satellite mode and street mode) showed your home as the murder location. my home on google earth is listed as a lighthouse location, a tourist store, and other destinations depending upon which browser and version of maps are being used.

also if you have ever posted a pic of your home anywhere online it now becomes public domain in some places.
