I'm trying to step carefully here, since this relates to religion and spirituality (as Mal pointed out). But I tend to agree with what kd & Sky said- but ONLY to an extent. I also believe that all people are entitled to personal revelation about their own lives. And I believe that dreams are a way that we receive that. I know that dreams in my own life have taught me very important life lessons, and even helped me steer my life off a destructive course and onto a more constructive one. I consider any dream of that nature to be a vision. I do not, however, believe that ALL dreams are visions- not even all dreams that have religious themes are visions. Sometimes dreams are just a crazy mixed-up catch-all for whatever we are thinking about, and it's possible that your subconcious drew up the images from the dream in Revelations because those images were floating around in your subconcious and your mind just mingled them up and layed them out there for you.

That said, I also believe that you will know within your own heart and soul if this is just a bizarre dream or if it is truly a vision- if you listen closely to yourself.

People sometimes get freaked out at the thought that they might have had a vision, but honestly I don't think you have to be a prophet or something to have a vision. I think we are all capable of being directed and guided through the feelings in our hearts and through dreams (for some of us at least).

At any rate, its meaning, in my opinion, is totally unique to you. There are certain archetypes that I believe have some universal meaning to them (as Jung believed) because they show up in all of our dreams, but ultimately I think we all have our own symbols and meanings within our own psyches and the best way to navigate and understand that is within one's own heart and soul.
