If you'd ever been turned down for medical care, insurance, housing, education, a job, or other things you truly needed based on your diagnosis, you might feel differently.
@ newtus, based on what you've shared here, you've never been in a situation where your basic needs aren't met. That is not the case for many mental health recipients.
I do not speak just from my own personal experience, although i am including my personal experiences, and my wife's. I am employed by a mental health case management agency and i see these scenarios happen in real by the hundreds.
I do not discourage anyone from seeking care, but rathe r encourage them to be informed on the full impact that diagnosis has. I do not believe it is right for it to have negative impact, but it does impact negatively, none the less.
