You also need to address this problem: why are you stranded?
I don not know what you have written about previously but why do you live so far away from civilisation and not have any means of transportation. You can pick up a junker of a car cheap that would get you from point A to point B. If driving isn't an option then I suggest you ought to rethink your living arrangements and move. Relying on friends and family occasionally is one thing but expecting this constantly is rather unfair to them. Is this the case I wonder? Has your friend grown tired of picking you up?

If this is right your walking at roughl 4 mph, way above the average. And it would still require you to keep that pace for 8 hrs to do 35 miles.
Not to mention the terrain.
To the OP I was also wondering about your circumstances, is this a family home?
Were there reasons you don't drive?
