I have not talked about it much, but have written lots to her about my fundamentalist Christian upbringing where my parents used their faith to justify the beatings going on.
T is Christian, I guessed that and asked in the very first session. It was important to me to know she doesn't care that I'm an atheist with an ex fundamentalist Christian background as people I know have had therapists trying to "witness" to them.
We don't talk about her beliefs though I am curious about progressive Christianity which she seems to be in. Sometimes we talk about how my upbringing shaped my shame and conflicts over my sexual orientation, sexuality, gender identity issues, life with my partner, forgiveness etc.
