Sometimes I wonder if I should give up on medication. I don't take it half the time anyway.
My biggest issue right now is physically swallowing the pills. I've always had issues swallowing pills, but now these issues have grown worse over the past couple of months. The larger the pill, the greater the likelihood I'm going to throw it up. I physically swallow the pill, and the instant it hits my stomach, I feel a strong onset of nausea. I can't always hold it back. It just comes right back up, in less than 30 seconds. (Sorry if that's gross.)
The biggest issue is lamictal (two 200mg pills): I've tried cutting those pills in half on many different occasions, but cutting them in half doesn't help. It's physically too large and the shape is too "sharp". It really needs to be a small, round pill.
I have an endoscopy coming up because I have upper GI issues, but that procedure is not until 2 weeks from now. I just know there is something going on with my stomach and throat (because I've had 3 different doctors tell me this), and I wouldn't be surprised if this pill swallowing issue is related to that. It sucks.
Pharmacist said I can't crush the lamictal.
