No drivers ed? Wow! I am in the UK and figured everywhere in the US did drivers ed.
Hmm.
So you are still at school? How do you get to and from school?
How do your parents get to work?
Can I ask your age?
I get that without a job, you can't run a car, or even buy a bike.
Since your parents are aware of the situation, what are their solutions.
I assume they have ideas of how you can get to a job despite living miles away from anywhere?
What are their suggestions?
I am afraid your friends are well within their rights to ask for gas money. Unless you have lent them cash and it's not been paid back, or you covered a work shift and they still owe you for that.
Outside of those size of favours, expecting someone to drive 15/30 miles out of their way without recompense isn't really fair.
Look it really does suck when you have no say in where you live.
Especially when you are so isolated. Unfortunately massively limits your options meaning you have to take what few options there are in order to open up others.
Is working with your folks a possibility?
What about local postal and delivery services, they often have a regular route in rural areas and are happy to provide lifts if it is on their route.
You have to start somewhere, why won't your parents teach you to drive? Or have they offered?
If your very rural are there jobs around the house and land they would be willing to pay you to do?
When there is a short supply of opportunities, sometimes we have to make our own.
Have you always lived in the sticks or is this a more recent thing?
All the best.
