Kayleigh, School is, of course, your choice. I wonder if what you are feeling is more than not wanting to be at school.
I wonder if you have met your advisor? If not check it out.
It sounds like you are seeking that subject, goal, career, whatever, that you can feel passionate about. Keep looking and maybe are there some college clubs you could get involved in? Many schools have a large variety and this helps students to feel more connected.
Also do they have a counseling center? Maybe this would help.
Don't worry about the classes you are taking not mattering in the future. No education is a waste. And as for that "major" desicion, I flipped-flopped majors and minors for 2 years and ended up dropping the minor and graduating a semester early. As you take classes you will, I hope run into professors that create a passion in you for a subject. Your gen-eds will probably not do this.
Also, Do not worry about being smart enough. Many freshmen do not carry 2.73 GPA. Many end up taking classes over.
You could consider transfering to a smaller school if yours is large. It is sometimes cool to be a big fish in a small pond.
If the relationship is meant to be it will survive anything. You have to do what is right for you.
If you need to quit school then you must, but do not give up on yourself. You are too important.
Sorry for writing a novel. Hope you find an answer.
take care.
