I didn't have hardly any reaction to this year's vaccine. I rarely do. I've gotten a flu shot every year since 1992, which was the last time I got the flu. I developed bronchitis and pneumonia that winter that landed me in the ER several times for breathing treatments and IV steroids (I have asthma as well). It's so worth it to me to put up with minor discomfort in order to avoid all of that. After 22 years in nursing, my immune system is strong enough to fight off squirrels in the back yard.
