So far this discussion has been handled well. However, our guidelines for this community limit discussion of political topics, and the death penalty gets pretty political. Some people are going to want to see harsher punishment for abusers, others object to the death penalty, and still more believe that offenders can be rehabilitated. After some administrative discussion about this thread, I will be locking it now in order to preserve the guidelines. Thanks for understanding.
