Blessed be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like that to that above.

Before our Father's throne
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one
Our comforts and our cares.

We share each other's woes,
Our mutual burdens bear;
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.

When we asunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.

This glorious hope revives
Our courage by the way;
While each in expectation lives,

The song may speak of "Christian" love, but as Christians, we should extend that love to all others. That is what God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit do. The Triune God loves ALL of his creation.

Christ gave us the Greatest Commandment to love one another. There are no limitations and no prerequisits. We are to love even the unlovable! What challenge is there in loving those that are lovable? The true gift of love and the reward is in loving those that are difficult and almost impossible to love readily. Therein lies the secret, to love those who aren't lovable and to accept them exactly where they are. That's what Jesus did and through the Holy Spirit, continues to do so today and forever.
