I knew I didn't like bupropion for some reason. The reasons, I believe are that it made me sweat like a you-know-what in church, and just didn't make me feel good. I was taking 450 mg. I tapered down eventually to 150 mg where I stopped and ditched it altogether. I've read that excessive sweating can be a side effect.

I was dxed with RLS aka Restless Legs Syndrome. It kept me from falling asleep, sometimes until 3-4 am, which is what it can do. My family doc put me on ropinirole aka Requip. Almost immediately the RLS stopped. It's been about 2 months, and I have almost no more symptoms.

The kicker (no pun intended) is that at about the same time I decided to stop bupropion. I don't know if it's a coincidence but the sweating has greatly diminished, and I feel more "up" than I have in a long time. I won't call it euphoria or mania, but I've had more energy and gotten very goofy at times, cheerful kind of goofy. I'm a goofy and happy drunk, though I rarely drink anymore, this seems to bring out my goofiness even more.

Goofy to the point that I pick up something shaped like a microphone and sing to the dogs like I'm a rock singer. You really have to see it (or maybe you don;t want to ). I do get pissed and bummed occasionally, but I'm particularly taken shocked by my energy, which I've not had in a very long time. I've gotten back into dieting, weightlifting and walking (I can't run anymore due to a lumbar fusion) with a vengeance and am proud of my progress.

I just thought I'd share that it seems ropinirole acts a s a pretty darn good anti-depressant, which is what some of the literature says.
