I didn't use it for work stuff just stuff I was organizing for personal use......I use Mendeley for organizing stuff I'm reading for work. It's still an outside server but these are just nih papers I've marked up. Anything secure went into a university secured service called box.....kinda like Dropbox but more secure.

Yeah, the thing is evenote is so functional, that it quite literally annoyed me that I couldnt use it(paid my subscription). The phone app and desktop app are just fantastic, but , ultimately unusable. Always bugged me..
