I know how difficult that is. I took a month off for medical treatment of my PTSD and depression, and when I came back to work my employer made it so hostile and toxic that I had to resign.

It's nice that they offered you a severance. I wonder if there's some kind of leeway for a wrongful termination lawsuit there though. I mean, they fired you on your first day back from medical treatment? I think that's actually illegal.

I'm sorry you are going through this. It's the worst thing in the world when an employer fires you for having an illness; especially when you took time off to seek treatment for that illness.

Try not to lose too much confidence over it. I know exactly what you're going through though. The same thing happened to me on my last job. I took 10 days of vacation time off to manage a medication change, and when I came back the first thing they did was tell me my position was eliminated and tried to get me to accept $2000 not to sue them. I refused to sign and am in the process of suing them right now because I have proof of discrimination.
