Many years ago, when I was quite new to severe Depression and unrelenting suicidal thoughts, I sometimes wondered about the validity of the old debate between what is support and what is “enabling”.
Now I’m older, wiser, with many more battle scars (from this thing called “life”) I don’t feel there is any wisdom or validity in labelling any fellow human as “attention seeking” or whatever and “just letting them get on with it”

. I find that attitude, which the Parental Units had, pretty sad. All of us here are warriors and deserve support and respect.
I’d rather be “guilty” of giving “too many” hugs than leave a fellow human to.. “cope alone”
Just my perspective, from a very neglectful family of origin and many painful experiences in this world..
Love,
Fuzzy
