There might be something you're repressing?? Like, for example, some people find it difficult to sleep because there's something on their mind. I know you're angry because you're struggling to study but this could be the same thing as struggling to sleep due to an underlying problem, perhaps?

You say you don't want help because of your ego. To anyone else, I would suggest opening up in depth to someone about all the things making you angry and they might be able to help you process these thoughts. Sometimes, offloading to someone helps. They don't need to 'help', necessarily, unless you'd like them to - it'll be similar to documenting your thoughts in a diary. If not this, then I'd recommend therapy however your title says you don't want help due to your ego.
