I had violence in childhood, but not sexual.

There's a wonderful book called 'A Little Life' by Hanya Yanagihara.

It's a novel about a man who had a childhood similar to yours. It's one of the best books I've ever read. You can tell that the author has put a lot of her own life into the book.

It made me cry, but it also helped me to see shame in a different way... that these are things that happen to us, but are not us.

I'd really recommend it.
