Please give the the feedback to your doctor that a billable dsmV code needs to be a current diagnosis to facilitate treatment. This may help.
Sometimes, depending on your insurance, seeing a dietician can be easier under medical problems, such as low albumin, electrolyte imbalances, anemia, etc, sometimes that is helpful? If you specifically want a referral to an eating disorder clinic, you should absolutely advocate for that, but sometimes seeking separate referrals for a therapist with ED experience, then also a dietician can be easier to accomplish. And in the end you get the same services and benefits, if outpatient is your goal. Additionally, if you start with these two services together, and fail to have progress, it helps you get approved for more intensive treatment later, IF you wind up needing it. - based on my own experience, yours may be different.
