Sometimes, depending on your insurance, seeing a dietician can be easier under medical problems, such as low albumin, electrolyte imbalances, anemia, etc, sometimes that is helpful? If you specifically want a referral to an eating disorder clinic, you should absolutely advocate for that, but sometimes seeking separate referrals for a therapist with ED experience, then also a dietician can be easier to accomplish. And in the end you get the same services and benefits, if outpatient is your goal. Additionally, if you start with these two services together, and fail to have progress, it helps you get approved for more intensive treatment later, IF you wind up needing it. - based on my own experience, yours may be different.

I cant do inpatient for my ed cause i would loose all my benefits so i can really only do outpatient plus if inpatient for a month or so i would loose where i am living.
I do see a nutritionist for the ed and she works with people with eds ,and yes i do have a billable dsm for it.
