I suffer from depression myself and I don't dump this on my best friend, I share the way I feel with him, and he makes suggestions and tries to help in ways he can.
I think my wife suffers the most because she sees what I go through and finds it difficult that she is unable to help. I also take a lot of guilt for the situation and that it isn't fair to her and her life isn't a seemingly normal life like everyone else's.
I have even seriously thought and suggested that we should separate because I feel it's not fair to her.
I have only recently sought professional help and hope my situation will improve.
In your case, you should sincerely let your friend know how this makes you feel and encourage him to get help or therapy.
Good luck.

I feel bad in a way because I seem a bit unfair. I will do all I can to help. If he wants to live, he will have to fight hard to get well. I have seen the change in him. He used to enjoy playing the guitar and singing but he tells me he doesn't enjoy that. It's like he wants to die. I'll keep my eye on him. Thank you for your reply.
