Wow, if my boss said something like that on my review, I would actually argue about it being appropriate to being there. It's a performance review not a job satisfaction review. I have actually successfully argued with supervisors about certain things they have written on reviews and gotten them taken off. Nothing you get on a performance review should be a surprise. If there is a surprise, then it's a result of bad management, because managers should deal with issues immediately.
If your supervisor insists on keeping that feedback about being more community-oriented, I would ask that specific suggestions be included on the review so you know exactly what he's talking about and it's not just some vague suggestion.
