This thread is a mindfulness practice designed to create love and compassion for ourselves. This is taken from DBT Connections youtube video, 7/23.
You recite a statement that is like a prayer, but instead of asking for something, we send warm wishes by reciting words that express goodwill.
Repeat some of these statements, or make up your own.
Feel these statements coming from your heart. Relax, take deep, slow breaths in, and out, breaths that expand your belly. Think about this loving kindness for yourself and expanding to all people and animals.
Now make your loving kindness statements, or repeat after me or others that might have ones that resonate with you if anyone adds to this thread, type it out, and say it to yourself.

May I be safe and protected from danger.
May I be healthy and strong.
May I be happy and peaceful.
May I have meaningful work.
May I have a joyful life.
May I accept and feel good about myself.
